Mach-E Active Park Assist Prep kit: Explained

Active Park Assist Prep kit

A chip shortage led to the removal of the Ford Active Park Assist 2.0 from the 2022 Ford Mustang Mach-E, and the Active Park Assist Prep Kit took its place. This kit allows you to purchase the Active Park Assist and get it installed by your authorized Ford dealer at a later date.

In the almost 32,000 miles I have driven my Mach-E, I have rarely used that feature. But I know it’s not entirely useless because my mom once called it a  ‘lifesaver.’ Being involved in an accident that resulted in a neck injury that prevented her from straining her neck to properly park her car, the active park assist has been an invaluable feature for her. While it is abysmally slow, at least to me, it is not entirely useless.

In this article, you will learn all about the Active Prep Kit for your Mustang Mach-E, its installation and usage, and why it replaced Active Park Assist 2.0.

Due to high demand and to deliver more vehicles, the Active Park Assist 2.0 feature was removed from the 2022 Ford Mustang Mach-E, among several supply constraints, including the chip shortage.

This prep kit ensures that the Active Park Assist 2.0 feature can be purchased separately since it no longer comes fitted with the Mach-E and can be installed later by an authorized dealer.
