The main difference between the Juice Box 40 and 48 is the charging speed. From the name, the Juice Box 48 has a 48-amp ESVE, a higher maximum charging power output than the Juice Box 40, which has a 40-amp ESVE. It’s also important to note that the charging speed also depends on the vehicle.

My wife and I both have Mach E standard and extended range. As you’d surmise, I bought the Juice box 48 while she got the 40. I’ve run a series of tests to see if the difference in both chargers is significant, and it is. As you’d expect, the 48 charges a lot faster than the 40. Other than that, there wasn’t much difference between the two chargers. So, the driving force should ultimately be the kind of car you have.
